Summary  Reviews all payroll changes, deductions, attachments, etc.  Complies and maintains associate records.  Assist in HR related functions to service associates.                               

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances, which may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.
  • Process / review of weekly payroll changes/deductions, etc.  Processing terminations, reviews, various types of attachments. 
  • Compile and maintain associate records to include filing active and/or terms. 
  • Maintain attendance records for associates.  Issue attendance discipline when necessary. 
  • Maintains a strict level of confidentiality concerning all correspondence, memoranda, files and related information concerning Human Resources operations. 
  • Administrate leave of absences, short term / long term disability, Family Medical Leave Act.  
  • Handle unemployment issues.  
  • Enter data entry for training such as OSHA, Workplace Violence, Diversity, Allergens, etc. 
  • Conduct orientation for new hires and substitute in other areas in orientation as needed.
  • Conducts new hire on-boarding procedure.  
  • Issues feedback forms to Team Leaders' and issues and tracks new hire training progress.  Communicate progress with management.
  • Maintains the line-up. 
  • Oversee Trip Reduction Program as TRP Coordinator.
  • Leads safety team in safety audits and accident investigations. 
  • Administrate Worker's Compensation benefits which include 1st report of injury, maintaining OSHA 300 Log, monitoring medical care of associates in conjunction with company policies and procedures, and communication with Sentry regarding claims. 
  • Coordinate associate activities including wellness programs, health fairs, retirements, and appreciation lunches. 
  • Responsible for verifying new hire employment eligibility using E-Verify. 
  •  Responsible for conducting phone interviews, setting up interviews, and extending offers to prospective associates. 
  • Responsible for setting up and sending candidates for pre-employment screenings, and overseeing the tracking of new-hire drug screens and physicals. 
  • Applicant Tracking. 
  • Present/facilitate all required training; ex: DDI, Safety, etc. Set up on-site and off-site training as necessary.  
  • Fill in for HR Manager as needed to interpret policy, promote safety, recruit, and align with objectives. 
  • Back up for HR Associate as needed for entering vacations and personal days, filing, and payroll deduction paperwork and other duties as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities                         

  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however may fill in for HR Manager as needed.

Education and/or Experience                           

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year College or university; and/or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Language Skills: Must be fluent in Spanish/English. Ability to read, write, translate Spanish/English.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Human Resource systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
