Job Description

 

Seeking a Health Care Program Analyst to join the CHS Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, responsible for (1) analytics of CHS health care, discharge planning, and reentry service delivery and operations and (2) oversight and conduct of CHS research and evaluation activities. The Analyst will

 

  • Have experience in working with health registry, surveillance, and/or electronic health records datasets
  • Have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables, graphs, and dashboards
  • Have working knowledge of relational databases
  • Perform analysis of varied healthcare data and assist in assessing impact and outcomes, including developing knowledge and understanding of business processes within CHS.
  • Identify and interpret trends or patterns in datasets and apply results to the formulation of CHS policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret data of various types from multiple sources (raw data, performance indicator data, structured, unstructured)
  • Continuously monitor performance, quality control plans, and identify potential improvements in operational and clinical performance and process
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects with multiple clinical disciplines.
  • Coordinate with clinical services to streamline the collection and submission of data through development of appropriate workflows.
  • Be responsible for providing detailed, accurate and timely workflow / project updates.
  • Reconcile data/process errors by completing clinical data entry into multiple electronic systems
  • Communicate data issues to IT and/or supervisor as needed
  • Implement procedures and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality, e.g., data dictionaries, data entry/collection, information and workflow design.
  • Actively participate in and provide ideas on improving overall team performance through sharing best practices, discussing and implementing process improvements and continuously working to improve efficiency
  • Exhibit ability to interpret and scope requirements
     

Office location for this position is in lower Manhattan. Must be comfortable working within and travelling between lower Manhattan office and Rikers Island and borough jail facilities / offices as needed.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization, Physical Sciences or related programs; and,
    A minimum of two years responsible experience directly related to health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation and analysis; or,
  2. A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration, Health Care Specialization, Business Administration or related disciplines; and,
    A minimum of one year experience directly related to health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation and analysis; or
  3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience; and,
  4. Demonstrated skills in written or oral communication.
