Home Health Aide

The primary purpose of this role is to assist the patient with care needs at the direction of the primary care nurse. 

Responsibilities:

Assists the patient with care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding and dressing.

Assists the patient with exercises, transfers and medications that are ordinarily self-administered.

May perform household essential services including shopping, meal preparation, laundry and housecleaning.

Functions as a team member demonstrating collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and reporting patient pain to appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

Home Health Aide Certification, required

Prior home healthcare experience is preferred.

Valid state driver’s license and reliable automobile.

Proof of current automobile insurance.

Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing.

Current CPR card.

Flexible, yet organized, with ability to exercise sound judgment.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Additional languages preferred.  Spanish speaking a plus
