Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS: The Housekeeper works under the direction and supervising of the Housekeeping Supervisor. The Housekeeper is primarily responsible for guaranteeing that the area they are assigned to is clean and inviting. Must perform simple repetitive tasks willingly, some involving unpleasant conditions. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Keep a neat appearance, following dress code as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Be pleasant and courteous at all times.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Good physical and mental health required. Sits, stands, walks, stoops, turns, reaches, bends, lifts heavy objects all day/shift.
• Manuel dexterity needed for handling equipment.
• Must possess sight/hearing senses (or use prosthetics) to meet job requirements.
• May be required to lift equipment or supplies.
• Must be able to speak English in an understandable manner.

MAJOR DUTIES (include but are not limited to):

1. Stock cart in a timely fashion as you prepare for your shift.
2. Dust all furniture, light fixtures, lamps, window ledges, air conditioner units, etc. on your assigned hall.
3. Thoroughly sweep and mop all floors on your assigned hall daily.
4. Empty and change liners in all waste cans daily, or as needed.
5. Clean and wash all basins, commodes, lavatories and fixtures daily.
6. Clean all chrome fixtures to avoid water marks.
7. Spot clean all walls.
8. Check vacant rooms on your assigned hall daily to make sure they remain clean and straightened.
9. Stock all bathrooms with soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
10. Disinfect resident’s room upon discharge or death.
11. Assist with transferring resident’s belongings from one room to another.
12. Complete daily “Room Check” as assigned.
13. Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and odor free condition.
14. Answer all requests for housekeeping assistance in a timely fashion.
15. Assist with feeding at breakfast and lunch times.
16. All other duties as deemed necessary by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Administrator and/or their designee.
