Job Description

The HR Manager role is accountable for ensuring alignment between site business operations and HR practices and objectives. Manages the process of integrating business strategy with site level people management practices.

  

Responsbilities Include: 

  • Directs site level Human Resources team in fostering a strategic business partnership with all levels of leadership.  Drives team in integrating business strategy and site goals/priorities with people management practices to promote organizational effectiveness.  
  • Oversees all site level strategy development for increasing organizational effectiveness.  
  • Provides direction in the administration of corporate policies / procedures and ensures compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Oversees formal process design and implementation of reviewing gaps in leadership capability across site.  Provides day-to-day coaching.
  • Drive efforts to create and maintain effective, positive, and open working relationships.   
  • Supports union and labor negotiations for site that result in win-win outcomes 
  • Drives development and implementation of interventions to improve performance
  • In partnership with Site Leader, develop strategies and tactics to support and enhance relationships with the local community.   
  • Drives continuous improvement of site level HR processes and practices.  
  • Partner with business leaders and HR colleagues to identify and set short and long-term HR metrics based on business plans and local business goals.  
  • Oversees overall team safety by emphasizing safe work practices and a team atmosphere 
  • Develop functional area budget and continually monitor progress to target.  
  • Actively & successfully trains, coaches, and develops team
  • Supports a diverse workforce and values differences.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferred in HR Management

Education

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in HR 
  • 5 years of manufacturing site experience, Chemical Manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a high-level internal consultant with proven ability to effectively coach through complex and difficult issues.
  • Ability to lead / have strong participation in a major change or transformation projects.  
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to work well with others and build effective relationships.   
  • Experience with HRIS, Microsoft Office and database management
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism, and maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Competent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Efficient time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
