Job Description

The IT Manager is responsible for the security of the company’s computer systems and electronic data. Also, the development and implementation of customized systems and overseeing all computer-related activities to meet the company objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain and secure network to best practices
  • Reporting of project progress, change management and risk management.
  • Track life cycle of all Company hardware and software and recommend update cycles.
  • Work with Management to identify cost savings and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment.
  • Plan and execute the installation, configuration, and testing of equipment and software.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Troubleshoot network problems and escalate problems to IT Management and vendors.
  • Maintain network documentation.
  • Prepare users by designing and conducting training, providing reference documentation and supporting users.
  • Meet financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations to possess up-to-date knowledge of technological developments

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years project management experience, preferably in software development or IT infrastructure. Budgeting, cost control and risk management experience is desirable. Process evaluation and improvement skills a plus. Experience managing direct reports.

Working conditions

This position works in an office, warehouse and print production environment which may require flexibility in work hours to satisfy needs. An employee is expected to learn the duties of their job in a reasonable amount of time and demonstrate a desire to learn and do more. Attention to detail is critical. Good attendance and punctuality are critical. Able to maintain effective working relationships and work in a team environment. Must be focused on safety and housekeeping. Will be expected to respond to emergency call-ins for repair to critical equipment.
