Summary / Role Purpose

As a Microsoft Solutions Architect, you will have great leadership skills, a strong passion for driving business, great communication, exhibit outstanding collaboration skills. You will possess excellent presentation skills as well as in-depth technical and business value knowledge of Microsoft solutions. You will contribute to our knowledge/skill base best practices as we employ Microsoft technologies to create a dramatically more personal, integrated computing experience. The Microsoft Solutions Architect will be responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of Microsoft Solutions in a global enterprise environment. A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate proficiency with the design, implementation and support of Microsoft solutions and exhibit strong project management and communication skills.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert on projects, overseeing the work of others and being accountable for the outcome of the project
  • Design Microsoft solutions and related technologies
  • Develop and maintain diverse and complex project plans: outline steps and timetables for projects, resource planning, and standard operating procedures
  • Develop and communicate task level detail for project plans
  • Prepare budgetary recommendations as needed
  • Collaborates with other functions on complex business requirements
  • Must be able to effectively coordinate and multi-task across various groups and functional teams both inside and outside of the organization.
  • Leads strategy, best practices and architecture in the design, development and deployment of scalable and secure Microsoft-based solutions
  • Research, design, document, build, and pilot prioritized topics for Microsoft technology architecture and development standards
  • Work closely with Development, ACE, Infrastructure, and Service Delivery teams to understand existing capabilities, planned initiatives and how architecture standards might impact the environment
  • Mentor peers in proper Microsoft techniques, methods, standards and processes
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
  • Own the technical relationship between Microsoft and Ansys; communicating changes in Microsoft product roadmaps, best practice and deployment patterns within Ansys.


Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, management disciplines, or related field
  • 5 years of systems design experience
  • 8+ years of experience in technical roles; working with service based solutions, designing and working with enterprise implementations
  • Candidates should have advanced understanding of the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server products, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Group Policy, Microsoft Azure cloud services, Azure SSO, server/client model, and life cycle management
  • Hands-on design and implementation planning for Microsoft solutions including networking, security, governance and compliance solutions in Azure and Office 365
  • Experience deploying and managing digital certificates and certificate authority
  • Adapt and learn quickly; keeping pace with the rapid changes in the IT industry particularly in productivity, collaboration, and cloud
  • Proven problem analysis and critical thinking skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in pressure situations
  • Thorough knowledge of project management techniques and success factors
  • Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills. Able to manage the expectations of customers as well as influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience of creating high quality documentation and solution architecture artefacts

  • Certifications of interest (not required, but preference given):
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
    • TOGAF 9
    • ITIL v3/v4 FOUNDATION
