Job Description

The 2-year Global Graduate development program is designed to develop critical skills by providing participants an opportunity to experience a range of placement assignments as they establish broad experience within Engineering. These carefully structured experiences will expose participants to a view of the "big picture" and capabilities in areas important to engineering. Rotations could include experiences in one Iberdrola location in Spain, Scotland, Brazil or Mexico and 2 rotations in the U.S. (Orange, CT, Rochester/Binghamton, NY and Augusta/Portland, ME).

For each assignment, participants will be required to meet specific outcomes and execute project plans. Along with rotations, members also are given opportunities to work on Process Improvement projects that relate to their rotations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

This position will participate in various field mobility applications projects, provides technical support and guidance with an objective of providing technical solutions and innovative approaches to meet the business requirements.

The Global Graduate Field Workforce Mobility Apps will serve as a primary contact with Mobility end users and process owners in a specified business area to understand ongoing process requirements (changes, modifications, improvements) and ensuing overall solution design and function for a specified business unit throughout AVANGRID.  

This role will be responsible for design, build, test, deploy, operate, maintain, and evolve Field mobility applications for both existing solutions and delivering new solutions.

  • Engages with Stakeholders and assists in capturing requirements and understanding the business needs.
  • Analyzes solutions to meet business needs. Understand back-end business processes and define most optimum solution to consume those processes in a front-end application.
  • Detailed design and build advanced mobile application. Implement user interface designs provided by UX team.
  • Generate wireframes and mock-ups to present design concepts to stakeholders, and once approved, finalize technical designs ready to be coded.
  • Maintain consistent and high-quality user experiences that work effectively in the mobile device.
  • Work very closely with the back-end analyst team to balance usability and technical concerns in UX/UI design. Coordinate the back-end interfaces development and ensure a e2e integration and consistency.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Work closely with Business to build roadmaps and deliver upon them
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Implements configuration changes and prepares specifications for approved changes.
  • Maps cross-system applications and process flow of given applications.
  • Provides timely and accurate solutions to the functional business areas, including unresolved mobility requests from the service desk.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates documentation including business processes and reference materials.
  • Provides on-going end user guidance and support as required.
  • Participate in project design reviews to ensure design adherence to business requirements.
  • Analyze business requirements and drivers to identify opportunities for technology advancement. Identify critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related study.
  • Knowledge with field workforce mobility apps preferred. 
  • Knowledge integrating multiple open source software's/applications is preferred.
  • Desirable knowledge in SAP PM.
  • Desirable experience in IT Applications designing, testing, & support experience

    Skills & Abilities:

    Required:

    • Good knowledge of how those processes that are executed in a back-end system could be consumed in the most optimum way in a front-end application. 
    • Understanding of new digital technologies and capabilities required. 
    • Understanding of software development lifecycle.
    • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend the function and capabilities of new technologies 
    • Ability to multitask multiple projects with diverse technologies and environments. 

    Preferred:

    • Good knowledge of Field Workforce process that could be "mobilized," such as field construction, inspection, maintenance, meter work, customer work, vegetation management, damage assessment.
    • Experience in SAP PM as the backend system supporting all those core processes.
    • Knowledge in field mobility, scheduling, and dispatching solutions, such as: IFS, Microsoft, Click, Salesforce...
    • Experience with Android app development (Android Studio and Android emulator).

    • Project Management experience preferred
