Job Description
Serving Seniors Inc. is a growing non-medical senior care company in Mattydale, NY. We provide 1:1 caregiving services to elderly throughout Onondaga and Oswego Counties and have clients who are in need of a reliable caregiver. We are a close-knit team at Serving Seniors and we rely on each other to ensure our clients receive the highest quality home care possible. We hire only committed, professional individuals who love working with older adults and seniors during all hours of the day and night. Part-Time and Per Diem available.
Qualifications: High School or Equivalent Use of an automobile with possession of driver's license and liability insurance is required. Must be able to read, write in English and follow instructions. Must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities: The duties consist of a combination of activities, which include, but are not limited to: Provide respite breaks for family or caregivers Provide assistance with reading and writing correspondence and publications Observation and feedback to the coordinator/supervisor on client's behavior, mood, and adjustment in the home Shopping with an effort to economize and preparation of nutritious and appetizing meals Assisting with simple health care routines such as reminders to maintain diet restriction, medication regimen, and recommended exercises and cueing to take meds Being supportive and encouragement during periods of loneliness, depressions, bereavement etc. Light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. Though some visits are longer, most are 3-4 hours in duration, so must be willing/able to drive to these locations for a 3-4 hour visit. Scheduling is based on the needs of the clients
Additional Duties: Charting or taking notes for others to review Providing companionship and supportive listening Reporting changes in the health or status of the client Responding to emergency situations Transporting client to appointments Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities Protects our company by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements
