The role with this manufacturer will be based out of the southern portion of upstate NY.

About the position:

We’re looking for a Lawyer - Assistant General Counsel to provide strategic direction and advice for the full spectrum of corporate and operations support required by the company with a focus on human resources related issues. You will:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s business, its core values, its people, products, technology, markets, customers and competitors in order to assist the Company in meeting its overall business goals and objectives in a legal, compliant, efficient, practical and responsible manner
  • Serves as a strategic partner by providing legal service to a variety of corporate clients in different areas of the company, including human resources, sales, manufacturing, and marketing by establishing, managing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships
  • Review, draft, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including supplier, customer, confidentiality, distributor and license agreements for domestic and international operations and functions.
  • The position will also be responsible for helping to provide support in other areas such as benefits, environmental, employment, procurement, trademark, and real estate
  • Partner on issues related to compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations applicable to government contractors.
  • Develop and continuously improve department templates, processes, and policies.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining company policies and procedures including its compliance program.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support on special projects to the General Counsel and executive and business leaders.
  • Primary emphasis for this role is Human Resource Law and contract review.

About the schedule:

This position would be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

About you:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and a strong academic background.
  • Admitted to the Bar of the State of New York, or eligible through reciprocity for full admission or registration as Corporate Counsel
  • Minimum of 8+ years of solid combined experience practicing in general corporate law and commercial transactions at an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Experience with Human Resources Legal

  • Relevant Experience / Background in Human Resources and Trademark are strong pluses

About the total compensation package:

Salary - The salary for this position is $137,800 to $195,000 based on education and experience.
