What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are looking for a highly motivated Lead Banquet Set-Up Attendant to join our team! This individual will lead and direct the set up and preparation of banquet rooms for banquet functions, as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.

The responsibility of a Lead Banquet Set Up Attendant is to set up rooms and halls in readiness for a plethora of banquet events. Reading a Banquet Event Order and being able to follow the directions outlined in order to set the room up at the Group's request. The Lead Set Up Attendant will lead the other banquet set up attendants to ensure the set up of any room meets the requirements.
Your role:
- Ability to schedule, and train all housemen.
- Assemble and arrange conference equipment in conference rooms per event order and to the standard set by Conference Services management.
- Supervise and assist the set up of all meeting /function rooms to include tables, chairs, equipment, etc.
- Assist in defining performance requirements and develop action plans to achieve these goals.
- Assist in monitoring staff performance and work with Manager/Director regarding any personnel issues that may arise.
- Visually inspect all meeting rooms/function space prior to meetings/functions for cleanliness, proper set-up, etc.
- Supervise clean-up of meeting room/function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
- Work closely with the Conference Planners and Catering Managers to ensure client’s needs are met.
- Provide suggestions and creative solutions to Conference Planner and client requests.
- Manage inventory of equipment/furniture.
- Able to communicate and work with all levels of personnel.
- With manager, conduct review of area operating procedures, recommending and implementing changes to increase operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Insures adherence to department standards.
- Works closely with the audio visual staff to ensure overall meeting room/function space is set and maintained appropriately.
- Works closely with the Banquet Manager to ensure banquet events are set correctly.
- Team with internal departments to ensure client needs / issues are met and / or resolved in a timely manner.
- Daily thorough cleaning of classrooms, ballrooms and team rooms following proper cleaning standards including the removal of trash from meeting spaces and the restocking of meeting room supplies.
- Refreshes meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks
- Completes special projects as directed by department management.
- Moves convention material boxes, programs, etc. from hotel receiving docks, registration areas, guest rooms or suites
- Bus tables and re-set them as needed
- Resolve guests’ issues and create an amazing experience
- Communicate and maintain a positive relationship with culinary and stewarding staff
- Maintain an awareness of all functions, events and meetings taking place at any given time
