Job Description

Primary Purpose and Function

All Candidates must be licensed by the State of Indiana with no stipulations. The LPN will be responsible for the healthcare of both female and male clients suffering from addictions and behavioral health issues. The LPN must be able to adhere to the plan of care set forth by the physician on all physician orders, medications and treatments. The LPN must be able to perform all duties independently and use safe practice standards according to the Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • At least 1-year prior experience as an LPN preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience
  • Certified BLS provider obtained within 1 month prior to hire
  • Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and customer relations skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to use an EMR
  • Knowledge of “best practices” behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to understand the requirements of the clientele

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Timely and complete medical record documentation
  • Uses clinical judgment to manage delivery of patient care safely and effectively
  • Oral and written communication skills to convey patient progress and needs
  • Ability to be on call for patients and staff
  • Participation in Peer Review process
  • Ability to work well with the Behavioral Health Technicians and agree to assist in BHT duties as needed
  • Adherence to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, and Joint Commission regulations and standards
