Position Title: Staff Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

 

SIGN ON BONUS $3,500.00 paid out over 18 months as described above (4) 875.00 installment payments

 

Summary: Peak Healthcare at Sligo Creek is looking for a licensed practical nurse to join our growing nursing home staff and provide residents with daily care and support. Our ideal candidate has nursing home experience, is a keen observer and good communicator, and can bring a friendly and compassionate attitude to the job. Duties: 

Observe and manage resident patient health according to individual needs. Provide routine care, ensure comfort, and report any changes in resident health and behavior. 

Collect, track, maintain, and review patient medical history, charts, and physical condition, including heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. 

Assist registered nurses and physicians in their duties. 

Assist residents with personal hygiene, feeding, transportation, and movement. 

Administer medications and injections, provide wound care, perform standard diagnostic procedures, and collect and prepare specimens. 

Keep resident patient information confidential, follow all policies and procedures, and adhere to federal, state, local requirements, and professional standards. 

Maintain licensure and take ownership of professional development through educational opportunities. 

 

Requirements:

Completion of state-approved LPN education program and current state LPN license or compact license.

BLS and CPR certifications 

1-2 years recent nursing home experience preferred, but not required.

Proficient computer skills, especially with data entry 

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients and medical equipment 

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills 

 

Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Point, Click, Care. 

Certified Medication Aide licensure in Maryland (*unable to employ CMT/Certified Medication Tech's)

Strong communicator 

 

Preferred Skills: Experience working with elderly residents, not required, but preferred.
