Job Description

We are looking for reliable LPNs (Licensed Practical Nurses) to care for our medically needy pediatric client in Seffner, FL in a professional and considerate manner. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse and physician. LPN professionals must be qualified and compassionate. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing diverse basic and skilled care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm. The ideal nurses for this position must be competent and have experience with tracheostomies and g-tubes. 

The primary service area is Seffner, FL. Nurses may/or may not have to travel to work in neighboring areas such as Valrico, Plant City, Riverview, Ruskin, Tampa, and more. This position is for dayshift, evening, and overnight coverage to ensure the safety of the child--absolutely NO sleeping while on duty. Hours range from 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a, and sometimes 7-7 am/pm.

Licensed Practical Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Making home visits to clients living in designated territories.
  • Performing assigned duties, including administration of medication, wound care, treatments, and procedures.
  • Provides one-on-one care and assesses the effectiveness of the treatment to ensure that the patient receives the most comprehensive, high-quality, and appropriate care possible
  • Provides nursing care and prescribed treatments for patients in their home, according to the physician's plan of care as supervised by RN while following confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Monitoring clients' conditions; reporting changes to Clinical Manager and Client Services Manager.
  • Following up with, executing, and properly documenting doctors' orders.
  • Performing client assessments as necessary.
  • Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
  • Teach and counsel the patient and family/significant others regarding the nursing care needs and other related problems of the patient at home

Skills

  • Prior home care experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with pediatrics and adolescents with feeding tubes, developmental disabilities, tracheostomies, neurological disorders, and endocrine disorders (and possible injections) required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good knowledge of data entry
  • Great physical condition and excellent stamina
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress

Qualifications:

  • A current license as a Licensed Practice Nurse in the state of Florida.
  • Graduation from an accredited and approved nursing program, as indicated by school transcript or diploma.
  • Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and dependability

Active, unrestricted FL LPN license
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (must be verifiable)
Diploma/Degree/Transcripts
Valid Driver's license and social security card
Reliable transportation with active vehicle registration and insurance
Valid BLS and First Aid card (ACLS a plus!)
A recent statement of health (within the last 12 months)
Smart device access (laptop or tablet preferred)
Good writing skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract (all contractors MUST show they are in business for themselves by proof of EIN, state business license, marketing material, or business occupational license)

Pay: $26-27 per hour for 1:1 care. You will have one client with this case.

Supplemental Pay:

  • Overtime pay
  • Sign On Bonus after 90 days $$$
