Are you an experienced salesperson with management and marketing experience? Sentry Insurance is seeking an experienced individual to direct the activities of the life sales/marketing unit and act as the company’s expert on advanced life underwriting to facilitate the development of profitable Sentry Life products and to meet established growth objectives. The incumbent will work with the Associate Director of Individual Life Underwriting to advise on and review legal issues relative to beneficiaries, insurable interests, estate taxes, trusts, income tax consequences, and business evaluation implications.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Advanced Underwriting and Life proposals for use by the sales force in securing profitable business.

• Develop marketing strategies, services, proposals, and sales materials to support all Sentry Life sales activities.

• Develop and monitor inside sales and marketing activities for the life sales/marketing desk

• Train the direct writing sales force in Advanced Underwriting proposals, services, and new sales opportunities available due to changes in tax and business laws.

• Provide sales assistance to the sales force, when necessary, by means of individual telephone assistance and contact with client's attorneys and accountants.

• Provide technical support to the AVP or Life and Annuities to support proposal activity and marketing strategies for Advanced Underwriting services and Life products.

• Develop, administer, and assure conformance to the annual department budget

• Perform other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills, and degree of responsibility commensurate with assigned level.  

What it Takes

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

• 5-10 years of related work experience

• Expertise in estate planning, business and consumer life insurance, advanced underwriting services and marketing, and knowledge of computerized advanced underwriting proposal systems. JD and/or CLU preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Previous supervisory and management experience.
