POSITION TITLE
Loan Closer Analyst, Commercial Real Estate

LOCATION
Stamford, CT or Richmond, VA

YOUR ROLE
The Loan Closer Analyst, Commercial Real Estate position is an integral part of the Real Estate Investment Team and will report directly to the firm’s Director of Servicing and Closing. As a member of the Loan Closing team, this individual will handle the closing of commercial real estate loans for Genworth’s $6B+ loan portfolio and will assist in a variety of other functions to oversee the portfolio into the future.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage commercial real estate loans from application through closing
• Work with outside counsel to review loan documents for consistency with the loan application and consult with both internal and external counsel as necessary
• Interact with loan originators, underwriters, outside counsel and our network of mortgage bankers to gather and complete transaction closing requirements
• Work with third party vendors to coordinate the ordering and finalizing of environmental, property condition, zoning, property insurance, title insurance, survey and seismic reports
• Review Phase I and Property Condition Reports and prepare recommendations for the loan origination and risk teams
• Confirm delivery of all original loan documents after closing
• Assist the risk and origination teams with loan monitoring, preparation of forbearance and letter agreements and modifications
• Participate in Real Estate and Investment Department cross-functional projects as needed
• Interact with Legal, Accounting, Portfolio Managers, Finance and Treasury Departments, and understand key links within organization relative to role

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate loan closing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong organization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with outside vendors, counsel, mortgage bankers and borrowers
• Ability to function independently, work on multiple deals in a timely and efficient manner

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience at an insurance company, lending institution or law firm
