Summary

The Logistics Manager position will be based out of Portland, OR, and is responsible for overseeing the inbound transportation network for a specific plant. Work alongside the customer to proactively find and resolve transportation issues with stakeholders .

Essential Functions

  • Work with suppliers and carriers to establish planned routings
  • Identify and implement cost saving opportunities within customer's logistic network
  • Identify load density improvement projects
  • Implement new routing plans with supplier, brokers, 3PLs, plants, and carriers
  • Take corrective actions with suppliers and carriers for non-compliance to customer business rules
  • Report (monthly) variations to shipping plan and impact on transportation budget (monitor Add/Cancel’s)
  • Review monthly transportation plan performance with Transportation Team and plant
  • Monitor carrier detention, identify root causes, and escalate as needed
  • Ability to quickly process reports and action

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, logistics, transportation. A combination of other education and experiences will be considered.
  • Five (5) years or more in the management of warehouse and/or transportation operations required
