SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the plant leadership team who acts as a technical advisor and is responsible for overall maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant manufacturing equipment and the overall facility itself. Provides leadership and supervision to the Maintenance team in the assignment and coordination of work to ensure safety, quality, and maximum production efficiencies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Direction & Vision. Responsible for supporting and providing input into the company's strategic direction regarding site facilities & operational maintenance, safety & security systems, and lean manufacturing initiatives. Recommend and develop capital equipment projects to add capacity in this area or improve the operations.
- Executing the Plan. Plans and executes approaches related to day-to-day maintenance operations, project plans, and working with outside contractors. Oversee maintenance of property, buildings, offices, production areas, public areas, equipment, refrigeration units, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, electric systems, etcetera. Responsible for generating and owning annual maintenance budget.
- Leadership & Developing Capabilities. Responsible for providing leadership for the maintenance / facilities team, outside contractors, and partnering with the leadership team to establish priorities, timelines, and measurable results. Responsible for providing structured training & development for the maintenance team.
- Supports Profitable Growth. Manage maintenance & facilities processes, systems, and planning to ensure that manufacturing capacities are maximized, and unplanned disruptions are minimized.
- Continually support & improve preventive maintenance program
- Plan the utilization of space and facilities.
- Communications & Collaboration. Work with staff/managers regarding maintenance/facility's needs; ensure timely response to requests. Communicate with cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues. Prepare all required reports and correspondence to keep leadership and the workforce informed as appropriate.
- Framework for Success. Develop and oversee the implementation of process improvements, whether they be achieved through machine settings, machine improvements, process improvements, or people development. Utilize KPIs & action plans to drive and demonstrate department performance.
- Culture. Establish & create a team mindset of exceptional responsiveness, quality, & service to the organization. Energizes a team mindset of "can do" & urgency for production disruptions.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Establish the team's support for EH&S regulations, policies & procedures, and prompt response to unexpected issues. Enforces legal, financial, & ethical standards.
- Other tasks as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or GED required (Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred)
- 5 + years Maintenance Management in a structured/professional environment
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, fabrication, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- High level of computer proficiency including Outlook, Excel, CAD
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
