Skills and Abilities

  • Inspect, repair, install, modify and maintain electrical systems, circuits and equipment.
  • Work from schematic, diagrams, and blueprints under minimal supervision.
  • Operational problem solving and seeking out continuous improvements to the plant processes.
  • Ensuring that a smooth “hand-off” occurs with technical team members on other shifts within the facility, in order that the communication and transition between shifts is accurate and constantly occurring.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Select electrical components for efficiency, reliability, and UL Compliance.
  • Must follow lock-out tag-out procedures.
  • Must adapt to continuous improvement driven change with a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work required overtime as needed, including some weekends.
  • Assist in coordination of needed facility projects with outside contractors.
  • Have responsibility for annual IR inspections and required repairs.
  • Perform other maintenance tasks such as parts replacement, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, welding, etc.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (vocational training in electrical or electronics technology is a plus)
  • Must have a State Master License, as applicable per State regulations.
  • Shall have proven and demonstrated history of responsible and safe electrical work and possess a strong knowledge of NEC safety standards and other associated standards and codes.
  • Working knowledge of plant automation control systems.
  • Training and certifications must be up to date.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Good computer skills. Word, Excel, databases is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, team oriented, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls and variable speed AC and DC.
  • Familiarity with the principles of preventative maintenance.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills; troubleshoot electrical problems.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of members within the facility both individually and in a team environment. Ability to interface with line operators to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Highly safety conscious and meticulous with following lock out tag out procedures.
  • Ability to work beneath machines and in close quarters while performing analysis and repair work.
