Summary of Role\:

GlobalFoundries seeks an experienced manager to lead the semiconductor device compact modeling team in Vermont. Specific responsibilities will include leading the team to work on characterization test structure design, data collection and analysis, device compact model fitting, device models, Model quality, Model hardware correlation, technology benchmarking, and customer support. Experience with semiconductor device compact model development and familiarity of the different standard device compact models such as BSIM, BSIMSOI, PSP, HiCUM is essential.

The applicant will be leading an established, highly motivated and experienced device model development team. The modelling team is responsible for transistor compact device models (FET, NPN, HBT, and HEMT) in Process Design Kits (PDK) for advanced CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, RFSOI, RFCMOS, Silicon Photonics and next generation RF/ millimeter Wave (mmWave) technology nodes. Demonstrated communication, adaptability, and teamwork are required.

Essential Responsibilities include\:

  • Provide leadership, strategic vision, and technical guidance to the device compact modeling team.
  • Lead the team to deliver best in class quality semiconductor device compact models for advanced CMOS, SiGe BiCMOS, RFSOI, RFCMOS, Silicon Photonics and next generation RF/mmWave technology nodes
  • Managing employee performance, development, motivation, and morale
  • Responsible for employee staffing, training, cross-training, and resource allocation and deployment. Managing and prioritizing work to ensure it fits within existing resources
  • Accountable for driving continuous improvement in overall quality & efficiency by leading structured problem-solving activities, identifying business processes & owners, and determining common themes from exposed or missed deliverables
  • Drive and support innovation that provides value to customers / design teams
  • Collaboration with broader worldwide modelling teams, specifically in India and Singapore, as well as the Modeling Characterization Test Labs
  • Work with Process Design Kit (PDK) / Design Enablement IP Circuit Development teams to provide world-class design enablement solutions
  • Collaborate with EDA companies to provide world-class design enablement solutions
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with customers and across Technology development, Fab Manufacturing Engineering, Application Engineering, Business Development, and Sales teams.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

 

Qualification:

Required Qualifications\:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Related Discipline
  • 8 or More Years Relevant Experience
  • 5 or More Years of People Management role
  • Prior experience in Advanced CMOS/RF device physics, Manufacturing, and IC design
  • Experience with SPICE simulators and CAD tools
  • Understanding of design flows, methodologies, and variation margins
  • Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Related Discipline
  • 8 or More Years of experience preferred
  • Good relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, commitments and deliver customer requirements
  • Strong leadership skills, aptitude for analytical problem-solving and keen attention to details
