The Pipefitter/Plumber is responsible for completing marine plumbing, inspections, rebuilds, modifications, repairs, and maintenance for yacht piping systems. This work will be completed for vessels in service in addition to facility work which will require the Pipefitter/Plumber to meet each commitment not only with precision, but also delivering service with a reassuring style.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Familiarity with marine systems - fire, potable, black and grey water systems.
  • Installation and modification of piping systems. (PVC, CPVC, steel, stainless steel and CuNi).
  • Exhaust System repair and installation.
  • Perform Tank Testing.
  • Valve Inspection & Overhaul.
  • Mechanically fasten pipe flanges.
  • Light rigging.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Maintain integrity of yacht interiors and exterior finish.
  • Overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must provide exceptional service and consistently demonstrate interpersonal skills.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic math and metric system knowledge are required.
  • Planning/Organizing - Performs activities planned by others.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Ability to easily adapt to change.
  • Ability to use various hand tools such as band saws, drill presses, chop saws, bench grinders.
  • Ability to identify materials, size and composition.
  • Follows policies, accept external controls and supervision and work within the rules.
  • Displays endurance and capacity for a fast pace work environment.
  • Has a positive attitude regarding people and outcomes.
  • Is friendly, cooperative, agreeable. Team oriented.
  • Able to work independently at times and make sound decisions.
  • Knows limitations and when to ask for help.
  • Must be dependable, work as a team player and have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to start and complete assigned tasks with a high level of quality in a timely and efficient manner.

Our newest venture, Savannah Yacht Center , is a deep-water maintenance, repair and re-fit facility on the Savannah River in coastal Georgia, dedicated to servicing the mega-yacht industry.

Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be aware of work environment at all times.

The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
