How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers including answering customer inquiries, providing price quotes, addressing concerns and offering optimal logistic solutions
  • Receive complaints from customers and/or sales; enters the complaint into the system; receives approval of complaint findings from customer
  • Understand Supply Chain and Commercial objectives; develop individual work objectives to align with business objectives
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Act in accordance with ISO documented procedures 
  • Order management from order entry to delivery at destination
  • Coordination of order requirements with operations, sales and corporate personnel
  • Evaluate current methods of shipment, investigation of alternatives and optimization of logistics and cost control
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be well organized and possess the ability to perform in a multitasking, fast pace environment
  • Manage relationships with internal/external freight providers 
  • Assist with A/R collections efforts
  • Contribute to achieving Customer Service goals related to Inventory Control, Accounts Receivable and On-time delivery requirements
  • Knowledge of export/import documentation in compliance with IMDG, Responsible Care, EAR and US CBP regulations is a plus 
  • Participate in all internal and external audits pertaining to ISO requirements, SOX, and IAFT
  • Uses best practices and industry knowledge to improve processes and service to customers
  • Assist in the coordination of the adoption of new business procedures resulting from system improvements
  • Work with SAP and EDI functional teams and business contacts in gathering requirements, supporting integration, user acceptance testing, and hyper care support
  • Maintain Customer Master Data in SAP S/4HANA
  • Takes on the highest level of customer service issues to ensure critical issues get resolved in an efficient and timely manner
  • Research, analyze and resolve complex customer issues in an accurate and timely manner by using appropriate tools and resources to assess situations and craft appropriate resolutions, while retaining ownership of the issue
  • Utilizes experience to identify business inconsistencies and/or red flags
  • May provide coaching, counseling or training to lower level customer service solution representatives

What you need to succeed:

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of fast paced customer service experience required
  • Experience in an automotive manufacturing/industrial environment  
  • Proficiency in SAP, Experience with Automotive sales document flow and Automotive processes - scheduling agreements with release orders, JIT, EDI
  • Experience in IDOC and Middleware is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Good understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR), US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, INCO Terms 2020, Harmonized Tariffs, IMDG requirements is a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures with respect to Domestic, Export, and Import activity
  • Experience with pricing, transportation & planning coordination, and partnering with Sales on quotes
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
  • Ability to multitask, think analytically, successfully manage change and communicate effectively
  • Act as an agent for change and continuous improvement
  • Works well under pressure – possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Foreign language skills are a plus
