Material Specialist

FULL-TIME

$19/hr

The individual in this position is responsible for the organization of accurate and timely material flow into and out of the manufacturing and/or warehouse departments.

- Overseeing or performing the daily receipt, accuracy reviews, and transfer of all materials transported in and out of the manufacturing departments.
- Transporting trailers/trucks across campus safely as needed. Must have prior experience driving large commercial truck/trailers. CDL not required as the position does not go on public roadways.
- Insuring accurate, safe and efficient receipt of all inbound materials including, but not limited to: packaging materials, imported goods, and internal manufactured items.
- Performing daily accuracy reviews, maintain internal and external customer guidelines, and reconciliation during the receipt of all inbound materials, as well as the return of non-compliant materials.
- Performing the sampling of products to support the inspection requirement of the Quality Control Team.
- Providing cross-training to designated member of department and insuring that requirements of the position and of the department are supported in the event of absence or other lack of availability.
- Maintaining consistent level of internal support and assure accurate, safe and efficient fulfillment of all sales order requests.
- Performing daily accuracy review, consolidation, grouping by carrier of all pending staged sales orders for shipment.
- Performing movement of materials to support accurate and efficient replenishment of stock levels to insure a continuous order fulfillment process. This includes batch and automatic replenishment requirements.
- Performing and assisting in product audits to maintain accurate control of aging and quality concerns.
- Providing support for data entry and error resolution within JD Edwards, during cycle counting and inventory control inquires to maintain accurate stock levels. Insure the accuracy of information entered by the Material Handlers into JD Edwards.
- Assisting in the verification, segregation, and put-away of returned merchandise through the Return Process.
- Performing movement of material to support the accurate and efficient picking of orders
- Supporting the requirements of the functional team to insure the safe and efficient operation of all material handling equipment.
- Overseeing and performing daily equipment safety checks to support current safety mandates and to assure that equipment is operational.

Qualifications
  • Must pass drug screen (cannabis included)
  • Must pass background check
  • Can lift 25 lbs
  • Must be at least 18+ years old
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with receiving background preferred. - With training be able to operate Powered Industrial Trucks: pallet jacks, fork trucks, reach trucks, turret stock pickers. - Yard jockey experience helpful but not required - Basic writing and math skills required - Flexibility to meet rotational shift changes, as required. - Basic computer and data entry knowledge required. - Knowledge of standard warehouse and/or production practices and processes helpful but not required. - Knowledge of JD Edwards and "RF" preferred - Receiving experience preferred - Ability to pull, push climb, balance, stoop, knee, crouch and reach with arms - Must be able to walk frequently - Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment
