Job Description

We have a direct hire Mechanical Engineer position in the Morgantown PA area.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides mechanical engineering technical support for a continuous, state of the art industrial melting facility.
  • Engineers, designs, installs, commissions, and tests new equipment and equipment upgrades, including capital projects; supervises and directs outside resources when applicable.
  • Recommends modifications to improve reliability, quality, and productivity of the site equipment. Oversees modifications as authorized. Works with engineering and management to develop solutions to recurring problems.
  • Follows solutions and modifications through to installation. Evaluates effectiveness of actions.
  • Leads and participates in continuous improvement to processes, equipment, and maintenance.
  • Leads and assists in problem solving for unplanned downtime.
  • Leads and assists technicians in troubleshooting industrial hydraulic/pneumatic systems, vacuum/water pumps, material handling systems, and other plant and furnace mechanical components.
  • Mentors and increases skill levels of mechanical engineers by providing guidance and support on mechanical design concepts/principles; assisting in resolving more complex design issues.
  • Issues reports documenting operational performance, achievements, projects, training, and maintenance work.
  • Maintains a program of professional growth through selected seminars, courses, trade magazines, books, journals.
  • Effectively communicates company and department goals, achievements, problems, solutions, practices, changes, and policies. Encourage positive communication.
  • Enforce all company policies, rules and regulations.
  • Conducts all operations in a safe and clean environment. Enforce all safety rules and regulations. Constantly be proactive in minimizing accidents. Participate in various Safety Programs.
  • Maintains high ethical standards and integrity. Conduct all operations in a professional and businesslike manner.
  • Supports weekend and holiday assignments as required.
  • Able to travel if needed (typically less than 10%)
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    6-10 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
    Experience in managing and leading projects is required.
    Hands-on experience with industrial hydraulic/pneumatic systems, vacuum/water pumps, material handling systems, and other industrial plant mechanical components is required.
    Requires use of CAD systems (Solidworks); industrial tools, machines, and test equipment.
    Background/knowledge of electrical systems (motors, drives, controls, etc.) desired.
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
    Effective communication (written and verbal), organization, and project management skills.
    Previous supervisory experience desired.
