• Review and interpret customer blueprints and other documentation to prepare estimates, machine throughputs, material cost and subcontract services.

• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services and tracking actual costs relative to quote estimates as manufacturing orders are completed.

• Obtain quotes from suppliers for materials, components and special process requirements.

• Determine manufacturing steps/processes, equipment requirements, programming requirements, setup operations, material, labor, and other items necessary to perform work.

• Work with sales, production and quality departments to obtain information to provide accurate quotes and lead times.

• Perform production audits to confirm estimates on repeat orders.

Education/Qualifications:
• 4-year Degree preferred or 6+ years of machine shop experience working with medium to high complexity parts, including knowledge of setup and operation of a diverse range of machines.

• Experience as a CNC Engineer, Estimator and / or Machinist highly desirable.

• Extensive knowledge of 3, 4 and 5 axis milling machines

• Knowledge of outside processes such as heat treating and plating

• Experience using an MRP or ERP system

• Experience with Excel and general Microsoft Office computer skills

• Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
