Job Description

An employee in this class is responsible for the transportation of participants who utilize Medicaid transportation services with WCCA. Work is performed under direct supervision. Annual performance reviews evaluate punctuality, accurate submission of records, safety and the general feedback of passengers/clients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must possess valid North Carolina driver’s license 
  • Minimum of 2 years driving experience
  • Skilled in safe driving habits and operation of multi-purpose vehicles
  • Working knowledge of two-way radio systems
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and with staff of local resource agencies 
  • Must be able to read and write, complete inspection, mileage and time sheet
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, secure wheelchairs, and aid passengers as needed
    Must have basic computer knowledge and skills


COMMENTS

  • Must possess valid North Carolina driver’s license 
  • Must participate in WCCA Drug Testing Program (pre-employment, random, post- accident, reasonable suspicion)
  • Criminal background check 
  • Must pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, pre-employment drug screen agency background and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) license check.
  • Must be willing to adapt work hours to meet needs of programs
  • There is no travel or weekend work in this position.
