Job Description

This machine operator position involves learning to perform the operation and set-ups of primary (heading) and secondary manufacturing equipment under appropriate supervision. The operator will be responsible for learning the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards. (Sacma Head/Thread, HiSpeed Hd/Thd Cell, UltraCon Cell, Camcrete Cells).

1. Follows all safety rules.
2. Maintain clean, orderly work area
3. Operate machinery as needed, which will include emptying pans, inspecting/gaging parts, making minor mechanical adjustments.
4. Where applicable, learn to perform minor machine set-ups; including, but not limited to, tooling changes and first piece inspection.
5. Record data for SPC, TS16949 documentation.
6. Move material by operating forklift or using non-motorized devices.
7. Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil changes and tightening of bolts.
8. Performs all other duties as requested by Supervisor or Leadperson.
9. Must be available to work overtime as needed.

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Ability to do basic math for blueprint reading, gaging, SPC.
3. Ability to learn computer operation/data entry.
4. Mechanical aptitude to learn machine operation skills and develop an understanding of the manufacturing process.
5. Ability to identify basic equipment problems.
6. Ability to visualize and understand the manufacturing process.
7. Good communication and teamwork skills.
8. Ability to legibly complete sign-offs and record data for TS16949.
9. Must possess the ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.
10. Knowledge in TS16949 and ISO14001 requirements.
11. Ability to communicate in English.

1. Previous manufacturing experience.
2. Previous machine or set-up/operating experience.
3. Ability to read gages, micrometers and blue prints.
4. Forklift operation/material-handling experience.
5. Computer literate.
