PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for the day-to-day management, training, coaching, and development of assigned staff for environmental and custodial services at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years experience successfully managing employees in an environmental services department or a service-related field with high customer/client contact and customer satisfaction needs.
  • A working knowledge and the ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of Federal and State environmental regulations.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience:

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Skills or Special Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written skills; and the proven ability to read in order to receive, interpret and distribute instructions.
  • Must possess basic critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to comply with established reporting requirements for tracking employee performance, completing performance evaluations, and conducting effective employee training.
  • Must be able to display excellent problem-solving skills both in one-on-one relationships and in group situations.
  • Must possess; and consistently demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to utilize a positive, participative approach to managing staff; possess the proven ability to consistently display this discipline, even under stressful conditions.
  • Must have the willingness to work the required schedule, as needed; and on a regular basis; and on a weekend and/or a holiday rotation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate fundamentally sound and industry acceptable environmental services standards and techniques, and a working knowledge and familiarity with the use of cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of specialized cleaning techniques and all Environmental Services cleaning equipment.
  • Must possess and consistently convey an approachable style; which relates well to others; and have the ability to demonstrate acceptable behaviors and actions that are aligned with Parkland policy and procedures.
  • Must complete departmental training.
