PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for management of assigned staff and other resources to ensure optimal services and safe patient care in Diagnostic Radiology.

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS

Education

- Bachelor's degree in a health care field is preferred.

Experience

- Must have eight (8) years of related healthcare experience, to include two years of supervisory experience.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- State of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).

- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Skills or Special Abilities

- Must be able to demonstrate effective supervisory skills.

- Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Must be able to communicate effectively.

- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.

- Must be able to operate various types of radiological equipment used in performing procedures.

- Must have intermediate MS Power Point, Excel and Word skills to present educational sessions and other departmental projects. Testing may be required to validate skills.

- Must have PACS and RIS experience.

- Financial management and budget skills preferred.
