  • . JOB SUMMARY. The National Accounts Manager - Retail (NAM - Retail) leads the company’s efforts to maintain and expand relationships with large, multi-location retail focused customers. The NAM - Retail is responsible for achieving the sales budget and assigned strategic account objectives.
The NAM - Retail represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.

The NAM - Retail focuses on the headquarters and key buying locations of assigned accounts, while coordinating closely with their respective field sales teams in addition to coordinating with our RSM’s (if applicable) who have been designated to help support these customers’ other locations.

The NAM - Retail main objective will be to penetrate, develop relationships and gain placement with assigned Retail National Accounts. The role will work closely with the Channel Marketing Manager - Retail at developing strategies and tactics to grow this channel.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel (VP to Field Level) in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinates category management initiatives with the involvement of company personnel, including marketing, sales support and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitability, including private label efforts.
  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a one and three-year period.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads category development efforts, including line reviews, that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
  • Achieves assigned sales budget in designated national accounts.
  • Achieves strategic customer objectives as defined by company management.
  • Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.
  • Coordinates the involvement of sales support personnel, so that growth objectives and customers’ expectations are met.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
  • Completes category management objectives within the assigned time frame.
BS degree (preferred)

10+ years of experience of which 3+ are in managing retail distribution and rep agency accounts at the national/corporate level

A history of success in new business development.
