About our Residency Program

This posting is for HCA Healthcare's hospitals in the North Carolina region. All our new grad RNs go through our New Grad RN Residency Program. This is a 12-15 week program depending on the unit you would be hired to which includes some classroom learning, home studies and sim labs along with a preceptorship. During the 12-15 week program you are employed by HealthTrust who is the HCA company that does our program, upon completion of the program and being signed off from your preceptor you will transition to Mission Health as an RN on the floor.

Many of our employees who have gone through the program say it really helped them be prepared for bedside nursing and the transition from school to nursing. Going through this program also requires a commitment that you would stay with our health system for 2 years. You would be able to transfer departments within our policy guidelines but we just ask that you stay with the system. If you do not have your BSN we also ask for a commitment to obtain your BSN within 5 years.
