Position description
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for a 1.0 FTE position to work independently and collaboratively with a comprehensive team in an outpatient setting providing care for adult patients with neurodegenerative and other neurologic problems. The team consists of physicians, nurses, residents, fellows, and allied health. In the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic the NP/PA provides specialized care by performing comprehensive assessments, ordering/reviewing diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans consisting of physical and occupational therapy, pharmacologic and interventional/procedural management, prescribing of orthotics and adaptive equipment including wheelchairs, and patient education. Applicant will also be participating in multidisciplinary care programs for patients with ALS and functional movement disorders, among others. Educational and professional growth opportunities are available with potential for participation in research, and expansion of specialty care.


Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an CNS, FNP, ANP or ACNP;

or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.

The NP/PA must be eligible for DEA registration.

CNS needs to currently be DEA eligible.
