Job Description

We are a beautiful 160-bed skilled nursing facility looking for RN or LPN Unit Supervisor to join our team and take on the responsibilities for assisting the Nursing Management Team and supervise the nursing activities of the facility during your tour of duty.

We are a growing company and looking for professionals to help improve our facility daily functions. To do well in this role you should have strong communication, writing skills, with outstanding clinical assessment and documentation skills to oversee our short-term sub-acute unit

The RN or LPN Unit Supervisor will perform multiple tasks to ensure compliance supervision to be in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the facility as may be required by the director of nursing to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

The right candidate will be a Massachusetts licensed nurse.  A registered nurse is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care on the unit to achieve good clinical outcomes.
  • Provides professional guidance and supervision to non- professional unit staff
  • Ensures patient care assignments are consistent with the needs of the patients
  • Ensures timely and accurate compliance of the MDS process including assessments and care plans.
  • Contacts the physician to obtain orders as indicated (admission, change of condition)
  • Ensures that physician orders are followed as prescribed
  • Oversees medication management to ensure adequate supplies are on hand and administered per policy
  • Participates in shift-to-shift communication between incoming and outgoing nursing staff
  • Ensures discharge planning process is in place
  • Ensures complete and prompt reporting of accidents, incidents and adverse events to the Executive Director and Director of Nursing
  • Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate action to bring to resolution
  • Participates in the evaluation of staff competency
  • Is an active participant in the staff education and Performance Improvement process

Qualification:

·         Must possess a current unencumbered active license to practice as a RN/LPN in Massachusetts.

·         Be able to read, write, and understand English

·         Must possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, government agencies and personnel and general public.

·         Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws and regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care.  

Shift:

3pm- 11pm
