Summary:

PCA organizes and participates in person-specific programming, including one to one intervention, small group activities. Provide oversight of a unit to assist in supervising residents for safety. We would send you to LNA school as well as pay for the class and Pay you to go to the class. In turn you would be required to give us a year of full time service. 

Qualifications:

  • Must demonstrate friendliness and diplomacy to be able to interact with residents, staff members, families, volunteers and community organizations. Must use their energy and interest to work with residents living in a long-term care environment.
  • Must use a collaborative approach to care for residents with all other facility personnel. Must demonstrate appropriate coping devices to deal with the mental and physical changes of the residents.
  • Preferred experience in working with the elderly in a recreational or nursing setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the resident activity director as needed.
  • Utilizes the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to the resident population.
  • Fosters a sense of community within the center environment.
  • Bed Making, meal delivery, mail delivery, provide 1:1 support-visits with residents, do small chores as resident needs for room organization for example. 
  • Utilizes a variety of models to achieve individualized programming, such as pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, etc.
  • Assists with decorating the facility and preparing for special events and seasonal parties.
  • Maintains records of activities and attendance.
  • Stores activity equipment and supplies and cleans area after conclusion of the activity.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
