What’s the Role Where You Can Help Us Serve Our Customers and Communities?

As a Plant Controller (Bloomfield, NY), you will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, recording, and analyzing all financial activity for the two plants, one in Bloomfield and one in Honeoye, with a combined total of $60 million in annual revenue.  In addition, you will provide accounting and finance assistance for Commodore Technology, a Dolco business also located in Bloomfield, NY.  You will lead a team of two consisting of an Accountant and a Purchasing Coordinator. 

Some specific duties include:

  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Prepares reports which forecast and/or summarize business activity/operational performance and financial position(s) in areas of income, expenses, standard cost development, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Performs analysis of the plant’s performance trends; recommends decision areas.
  • Plans and coordinates work; trains and motivates; monitors and evaluates team member performance; rewards or disciplines, as necessary.

What Primary Qualifications / Experience / Education Do You Need?

  • At least 10 years of related experience within manufacturing (e.g., general accounting manager, controller/assistant controller, etc.), to include demonstrated proficiency with forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, cost accounting and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA certification preferred. Thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise accounting systems, as well as other job-related systems/software (Excel, PPT, etc.)
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills, to include the ability to effectively define problems, collect data, research, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to resolve complex business/financial situations.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, both verbally and in writing.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
