JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
Must have managed 400-500 employees

This position leads, directs and manages all plant operations in a 24x7 operating environment in the largest company plant. This role has overall responsibilities for production, processing, maintenance, human resources, sanitation, accounting, materials management and other requirements necessary to the successful operations of the plant. Assures quality and safety while achieving established objectives and profitability. This role has significant impact on the volume and profitability of the business, leading an operation of significant size, scope and complexity.
Responsibilities

Safety and Quality
Ensures the manufacturing operation complies with safety, quality, and GMP requirements. Ensures the facility maintains a safe and clean work environment supporting the safety and risk management process. Partners with the Food Safety Quality departments to ensure compliance with all quality SOP's, maintaining audit ready status.
Primary Responsibilities

Establishes and communicates a vision, strategic direction and purpose for the facility

Establishes and communicates a culture of employee engagement, safety and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts and leads their team through this journey to deliver results.

Champions and actively drives company Operational Excellence, process standardization and best practices across all their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Coordinates all plant activities through planning and communication with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished.

Ensures the efficient deployment of investments across the facility.
Develops and controls plans, budgets and profits.

Implements cost-effective control systems over capital assets, operating expenditures, and labor costs.

Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for production, quality and safety standards.

Controls and minimizes overtime labor costs, maintenance/repair costs, downtime and product re-work.

Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; recommends replacement or adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.

Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies.
Provides direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to department managers and management teams.

Supports succession planning and maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training Identifies and develops personal growth opportunities for department managers and next level managers.

Selects and retains qualified operations leaders/subordinates

Maintains strong corporate and community

Ensures proper scheduling, purchasing, accounting, record keeping and inventory control activities and procedures.

Maintains plant standards for cleanliness, productivity, and maintenance.
Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards
Drives productivity and improvements across facilities.

Gains alignment and partnership with commercial teams to ensure key customer satisfaction.

Maintains a broad view of the dressing business and accelerates continuous improvement across all platforms to support incremental business.
Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements:

8+years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing Food related experience required.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in related field or equivalent combination of education and Prefer degree in engineering or supply chain.
Experience with SAP production applications.
Solid knowledge of company operations and objectives;
Background in manufacturing methods, quality control and process improvement
Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations
Solid understanding of OSHA, USDA and Food Safety
Ability to work with, and lead, a diverse
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving
Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal
High level of organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and
Strong interpersonal, technical and presentation
Supervisory Responsibility:

Directly supervises multiple department managers in a 24X7 environment with a total team size of 700+.
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, appraising, coaching for performance and terminating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
