JOB SUMMARY

Maintains production and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; safely using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and wear of parts

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Tasks include repair and maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as bucket elevators, conveyors, compressors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications while troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Five or more years of heavy industrial mechanical and millwright experience in a continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing environment.
