Summary of Role\:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated technician to be a part of a Process and Equipment Control (PEC) team engaged in advanced technology at GlobalFoundries’ state of the art 300mm wafer fab located in Malta, New York. As a PEC technician, you will be responsible for test wafer management, tool maintenance systems and documentation. Technician positions are hourly shift positions primarily working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.   

Essential Responsibilities Include\:

  • Manage and perform test wafer setup  
  • Manage test wafer routes   
  • Manage documentation in Setup.FC  
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement e.g., cost savings, optimize tool availability, cycle time and utilization 
  • Use of manufacturing systems (Siview, XSite, Setup.FC)  
  • Use standard software applications (MS Office) and specific programs (SAP, MES, ASPECT, SQL) creating reports and documenting procedures  
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements  
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and be on the Emergency Response Team if the need arises  
  • Train new team members  
  • Take a lead position on assigned or related projects and take those projects to completion

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Qualification:

Required Qualifications\:

  • High School Degree (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant semiconductor experience  
  • Fluent in English language – written & verbal  
  • Able to perform shift work on an 8 hours per day shift schedule  
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements  
  • Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 8 hour per day shift (excluding breaks)  
  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for the majority of an 8-hour shift (excluding breaks) 

Preferred Qualifications\:

  • 6+ years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenance  
  • Demonstrated technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment  
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information  
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation  
  • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness  
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities  
  • Self-motivated and keen to pursue more learning  
  • Ability to support priority changes at short notice  
  • Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team  
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems  
  • Equipment or process maintenance experience in semi-conductor manufacturing
