You will combine production skills-both print and digital, to be responsible for delivering a large volume of concurrent projects efficiently, while ensure deliverables are met. Coordinate the work of the department and outside vendors in such channels as print ads, web content, POS and catalogues.

We are looking for a results oriented individual with excellent organizational, who has great time management skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate in a pioneering yet process-driven, dynamic and growing environment. You must have strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and handle quick-turn projects.

Essential Functions

  •  Effectively manage print and lettershop for all campaigns to ensure high quality, cost effective, and timely production
  • Work proactively with creative team and vendors to ensure continuous improvement and optimal production solutions for new and existing materials and concepts
  • Manage postal requirements and ensure compliance to regulations
  • Attend press checks and QC checks at vendor facilities
  • Develop specifications for new components in support of client's budget
  • Proof and facilitate routing printer proofs and lettershop audits
  • Proactively communicate supply chain issues to client team and coordinate solution implementation
  • Create Purchase Orders, audit invoices, and provide cost recaps
  • Monitor and audit postal statements
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function
  • Able to manage career paths by coaching and mentoring direct reports
  • Holds associates accountable for their work by setting expectations, achieving commitments, providing feedback, and evaluating effectiveness
  • Provide technical leadership in the organization
  • Provides direction to individual contributors

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of the print production process and agency workflow
  • Knowledge of postal regulations a must, knowledge of postal logistics and consolidation methods a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and operational workflow dynamics to effectively track and analyze the status within the procurement process
  • Able to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline oriented environment
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement initiatives and able to solve problems creatively
  • Highly motivated and high level of initiative; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives
  • Able to build relationships and work across a multi-product line organization
  • Strong analytics and computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Knowledge of SAP, Noosh and PeopleSoft software a plus
  • Able to communicate effectively, upwards and downwards within the organizational structure
  • Able to solve complex problems and issues
  • Able to recognize and manage new business opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all production components and resources to ensure all work is completed flawlessly, as well as on time
  • Manage a team of production artists, retouchers, proofreader and traffic
  • Will key line print and perform digital production work alongside reports
  • Perform work quality assessments and feedback, to ensure highest quality standards
  • Find solutions for any project that may come up
  • Work with internal and external teams to ensure all work functions are performed as per requirements
  • Maintain deadlines and quality as per service-level-agreements and standards
  • Carry out revision requests to delivered projects according to a revision request
  • Support in development of new products and format
  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of all department deliverables
  • Forecast, schedule and ensure timely completion of all printed collateral for both production and digital production projects
  • Ensure necessary staff is available prior to when workflow needs arise
  • Review all materials to ensure all text and visual content is accurate and of the highest quality alongside Proofreader
  • Coordinate with other departments to understand needs (presentation materials, sales support materials, etc.) and ensure timely delivery of requested information
  • Maintain and organize resources such as product library, retailer/partner web portals, etc. alongside Traffic
  • Manage multi-department approvals for all projects and ensure that all signatures are obtained before production is approved alongside Traffic
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and coordination with leadership & cross functional teams
  • Assists and supports cross functional teams, as needed
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required
  • Occasional domestic travel required

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Macintosh OSX
  • Microsoft Office Suite a plus
  • Flash a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Minimum of 7-10 years of studio work (production).
  • Excellent understanding of print processes, color management, proofing and press checking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience

  •  Minimum of seven years’ experience in a related field
  • Previous leadership experience required

Education

  •  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
