Job Description

Global company producing ready-to-eat baby food for infants from 4 months to 3 years. New plant, state-of-the art equipment supplying customers with a wide range of solid, organic baby food products; pouch fruits, stews, vegetable purees and baby meals. 5 lines, 3-shift, 7-day plant employing 125.

Responsibilities:

Lead activities in the Quality Control Department ensuring consistent product safety and quality of all products produced. Ensure all plant quality control activity, from raw material inbound, to production release and sanitation. The quality control Manager interacts with the quality assurance manager and all other department of the plant. Follow programs and procedures to ensure that customer, company, and regulatory specifications are met.

Perform root cause analysis in case of quality issues and/ or complaints and implement action plan; in coordination with the quality assurance manager, ensure continuous improvement for those programs.

Provide leadership and oversight to all Quality laboratory associates, testing plan, and maintain a strong presence in the laboratory and on the production floor. Lead CIP Qualification and improvement program.

Ensure Raw Material sampling and testing, analysis of results and release to production.

Conduct and document monthly audits of the facility in the areas of GMPs, Pest Control, Glass and Brittle Plastic, SSOP/HACCP, and general facility condition.

Knowledge of and inspection of production floor including HACCP and quality checks.

Addressing all GMP and SSOP violations with both production management and team members.

Use statistics, SPC and process capability to drive improvement within the facility in food safety and quality of products. Comply with all Food Safety and Quality guidelines, escalating concerns to management team and assist with corrective action. Position reports to VP of US Operation.

Qualifications:

BS Science related.

3+ years of experience in a Quality role within a food or beverage manufacturing facility.

GFSI audit experience and familiarity with FDA and USDA regulation.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
