Role Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Engineer for our Raleigh team. The Quality Engineer will join one of Flowserve's larger, most complex industrial manufacturing sites in the U.S. We provide highly competitive salary, annual bonuses, pension plan + 401k, generous paid time off and excellent benefits.

This position is a project focused senior Quality Engineer supporting Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for the department while ensuring these projects are done on time and within scope. This will include the coordination of resources (internal and external to the department), development of project plans to track progress, measuring project performance, reporting and escalation to management as needed, and maintaining project documentation.

This person will use quality, continuous improvement, and other relevant methodologies to improve processes in order to meet Flowserve – Raleigh’s goals and objectives and should be able to drive significant impacts to “Exceptional Customer Experience” and “Develop a High-Performance Work Culture”.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Conduct operational audits of Flowserve manufacturing sites, functional organizations (Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and others as determined by platform management), and key processes (CAR, NCR, MRB, etc.).
  • Assist Flowserve manufacturing sites and functions in preparing for, facilitating, and responding to audits of all types (internal, external agency, Customer, etc.).
  • Support the improvement of global auditing processes.
  • Perform reviews of incoming documentation.
  • Assemble final documentation packages in accordance with customer purchase order, quality assurance plan, and the Code of construction.
  • REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO:
  • Plan for operational audits at Flowserve manufacturing sites and within functional organizations.
  • Execute operational audits and assess company operations, process, compliance and other associated risks.
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes, based on audit outcomes, to minimize risks.
  • Prepare and present quality reports of audit findings and recommendations to management and Customers when appropriate.
  • Provide professional advice to Internal Auditors (Flowserve trained and certified).
  • Identify key risk and control indicators for assigned audit areas.
  • Identify operational risks and make recommendations to manage risks.
  • Evaluate and recommend revision to internal controls and operational and management policies/procedures.
  • Ensure past audit recommendations are implemented in current audit process.
  • Assist management in developing annual audit plan.
  • Ensure compliance with government laws and company regulations.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HS Diploma or above
  • 5+ years ​Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) management experience
  • US Citizenship or US Green Card Holder for HQ based Auditor (to support audits of US Nuclear Quality processes)
  • Skilled in CAPA and RCA tools and able to teach and coach these concepts
  • Experience in Quality Software Systems
  • Experience in Procedure Management
  • Supplier Quality Management Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience with ASME codes & standards
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in QA department with an understanding of document control, record control and retention requirements
  • Experience in nuclear industry and/or valve applications preferred
  • Internal audit and/or NQA-1 audit experience preferred
  • Strong PC skills and solid proficiency with MS Office is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
