Registered Nurse – RN – Cath Lab

Responsibilities

  • Cath Lab Registered nurses will assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements
  • Cath lab RN prepare patients for specific procedures
  • Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen levels, and heart rhythms
  • The Registered Nurse will perform procedures, including contrast injections, IV starts and venipuncture for lab specimens
  • Assist in implanting pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ECDs)
  • Documents findings and communicates all pertinent information to interdisciplinary team members as appropriate
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in the development, evaluation, and revision of the plan of care as appropriate to meet the patient’s needs and goals
  • Provides education to patients/families/significant others, incorporating age-specific criteria and assessment of readiness to learn
  • Administers medications and completes treatments according to hospital policy and within age-specific parameters
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Facilitates discharge plan in collaboration with interdisciplinary team
  • Performs Point of Care procedures in a timely manner according to established policy and procedure

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in OR, or license with a compact state required upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
