Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)
FULL TIME

Connected Health Care is searching for passionate nurses for an established Health Care system in Cherokee IA for their OR department.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe and effective nursing care until your patient is transferred from your care to recovery
• Oversee the instrument and equipment set-up for your OR, including utilization of preference cards and ability to anticipate your surgeons needs
• Coordinate and oversee your room during a case as the circulator
• Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures
• Utilize appropriate body mechanics in moving your patients to stretchers and OR tables to prevent injury
• Manage your patients care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia
• Consistently review your charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure

• Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.

• M-F 7am-3:30pm shift.  On call is needed 1 to 2 nights a week and every third weekend. 
• Experience: 3-5 years preferred in surgery.  Minimum experience of one year in Med-Surg.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
• Experience: 1+ years of experience preferred but not required
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
• Qualifications: BLS, Active RN, ACLS, and PALS certifications
