RN Corporate Clinical Educator / Nursing Assistant Trainer

The CommuniCare Family of Companies currently has an opening for an experienced RN to join our team as Corporate Clinical Educator for our facilities in the AkronOH region.

The RN Clinical Educator / Nursing Assistant Trainer coordinates, plans, and conducts Nursing Assistant and Med Tech clinical orientation and training programs for professional and non-professional personnel, with the primary training focus on nursing personnel. This position provides education for multiple long-term care center interdisciplinary teams and Regional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Must be an RN in good standing with the state
  •  Must have at least 1 year of experience in a long term care setting.
  • Current Train the Trainer certificate for Nurse Aides, Medication Technician preferred, required to obtain upon hire.
  • Indepth knowledge of LTC regulations as well as state requirements for education and training.
  • Excellent organizational, computing and oral/written communication skills
  • Strong team player with demonstrated track record of success in a crossfunctional team and fast moving environment.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effective solutions
  • Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  •  Must be knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  •  Must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with team members, other staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with team members in all positions.  
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.         
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Responsible for providing and overseeing the educational department to include certified nurse aide training and certified medication aide training as well as other educational opportunities as they arise.
  • Work with the Corporate Leadership team in creating, developing and implementing quality educational programs.
  • Work with the Divisional/Regional team on educational training needs.
  •  Monitoring overall outcomes and continuing opportunities for improvement and creating changes as needed.
  • Receive, review, aid in resolution, and respond with follow up to all Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
  •  Maintain relationship and communication with Regional Director of Operations as pertaining to Clinical Services of assigned facilities.
  • Maintain relationship, communication with all Regional/Divisional Staff members, utilizing individual expertise when required.
  •  Provide public speaking for general communication and education.
  • Maintain professional licensure.
  • Obtain continuing education per licensure requirements.
  • Maintain professional relationships.
  • Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
  • Educate others formally and informally.
  • Participate in and provide scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain licensure of self and certification of team members and enhance quality of care.
