Job Description

Infection Control Nurse needed for skilled nursing facility in Fairfield County, CT. The desired candidate will be able to effectively manage multiple priorities with various deadlines. He or she will be able to utilize systemic resources to ensure their overall effectiveness.

Responsibilities include:

Working under the direction of the Director of Nursing in the review of procedures and conduct to ensure risk mitigation related to infection control. Solicits information from department heads and team leadership to develop an understanding of the processes in place to further enhance facility adherence to infection control standards.

• Performs regular audits of functional areas to identify infection control lapses and ensures their corrective action.
• Identifies and utilizes best practices to achieve optimal infection control results.
• Participates in facility Safety Committee
• Maintains effective communication while ensuring appropriate confidentiality.

Qualifications:

The desired candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-year experience in Infection Control in a Long Term Care setting
• Active Licensed Registered Nurse in CT
• Infection Control Certification preferred
