Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an Intake Coordinator for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary:

  • · The Intake Coordinator will respond to calls for psychiatry services responding appropriately to the identified needs of the caller and patient. 
  • · Coordinates communication related to all assessment and admission activities, ensures rapid throughput for the emergency department, requests additional resources when needed based on volume, and works with multidisciplinary team to move patients to disposition quickly.
  • · Responds to calls in a timely and thorough manner, and verifies RN/SSR in Respond completes a timely assessment
  • · Provides ongoing education, resources and support to patients and families as needed.
  • · Coordinates and participates with appropriate interested parties and physicians through the patient response inquiry, and admission process
  • · Models and trains other behavioral health team members on managing and tracking inquiry calls.

    Pinewood Springs is a 60 bed, 49,900 square foot Hospital serving both Adult and Adolescent patients. A part of Maury Regional Health, Pinewood Springs is located in Columbia, TN, between Nashville and Huntsville. Pinewood Springs will serve a region consisting of more than a quarter-million people in Southern Middle Tennessee.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • · Active and clear RN License (required)
    • · American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required within 90 days of hire)
    • · Psychiatric or Behavioral Health Services experience STRONGLY preferred
    • · Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) (required within 30 days of employment)
