MDS Coordinator – RN - Laurinburg, NC

The Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate completion, coordination, recording, updating, and monitoring of all Minimum Data Set documentation required by state and other appropriate authorities.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Regulates and maintains the MDS/PPS program and completion schedule
- Develops and coordinates appropriate nursing care plan from MDS/RUG category
- Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care plans, and updates MDS/RAI process within completion guidelines
- Works in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team to assess the needs of the resident
- Monitors MDS and care plan documentation for all residents. Ensures documentation is present in the medical record to support MDS coding.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Active and unencumbered NC License as a Professional RN (required)
- Prior MDS and Case Mix experience
- Experience with Electronic Health Records, AHT Preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to organize and prioritize; be accurate, concise and detail oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of RAI requirements
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
- Strong working knowledge of Computers, Windows and Microsoft Office
