Job Description
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: To coordinate and oversee all functions of the MDS and resident care assessment process to assure compliance with Federal and State requirements, and to certify timely completion of MDS assessment.
REQUIREMENT:
1. Current NYS RN license
2. Experience in Long-term care
3. Familiar with the MDS process
Report’s to – Director of Nursing/ Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in tracking changes in resident’s level of care
2. Be familiar with resident’s condition and care needs
3. Review MDS assessments and related forms to certify timely completion by signing the MDS forms on the appropriate sections
4. Manages quality assessment and assurance program, for the nursing department along with Administrator, Director of Nursing and QAPI team
5. Participate in interdisciplinary team and rehabilitation conference meetings
6. Complete reports and assignments accurately and adhere to establish time schedules.
7. Keeps all lines of communication open between nursing personnel.
8. Observe and follow infection control procedures relating to nursing services
9. Observe and follow the facility policies and procedures
10. Work cooperatively with the administration, nursing personnel, physicians, community agencies, resident, families and consultants
11. Be responsible for the safety of resident’s under his/her supervision
12. Observe resident’s rights policies at all times
13. Comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and requirements
14. Assist Director of Nursing with RN duties at all times to include assessments for falls, wounds, and reading of PPD’s, updating Care plans as needed.
