About the Medical Center of South Arkansas
Medical Center of South Arkansas, accredited by Joint Commission, is a general acute-care Level III Trauma Center hospital licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health. Our 166-bed facility's inpatient services include emergency services, obstetrics and newborn care, pediatric care, intensive care, otolaryngology, general surgery, orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, SNF, interventional cardiology, addiction management, and many other specialties. Telemedicine services include pulmonology, neurology and AR Saves stroke telemedicine. Outpatient services include a full service laboratory, speech, physical and occupational therapies, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound care, and radiological services including, MRI, CT, digital mammography and more.
Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing; ASN required; BSN preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Active Arkansas RN License; BLS
Experience: Minimum of 1 year RN hospital experience.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse Prefer Bachelors degree in Nursing. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
