Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure that a sufficient number of CNA's, LPN's and/or registered nurses are available for your tour of duty to ensure that quality care is maintained.
  • Make rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report findings to the Director.
  • Monitor absenteeism to ensure that an adequate number of nursing care personnel are on duty at all times.
  • Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.
  • Review medication cards for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of physician orders, and adherence to stop order policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as RN Supervisor
  • At least two years experience as an RN supervisor in long-term care
  • Good clinical and assessment skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC)
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
  • Valid RN and CPR certification
  • A hands-on approach
